Don't forget the Christmas Tree lighting at the Town Center. Even if Christmas isn't your thing, this is very fun and a great show to watch. You'll be sorry you missed it if you don't go!

We have only one MNO on the calendar which means if you want to plan one, please do so! Check the calendar first to make sure someone else hasn't beaten you to it.

Welcome to the Simi Valley and Moorpark Hip Mamas N' Papas!

Since you are new to the group or considering to join the group
we'd like to let you know a bit about the group and how it
works.

SVMHMP is a group free to all parents who want to join who live in
the Simi Valley or Moorpark areas. At this moment we do not accept
membership of parents who live outside these cities.

Upon joining you will be asked to fill out your profile completely.
PLEASE SIGN UP WITH AN EMAIL YOU CHECK REGULARLY! These
questions are important in getting to know you and also for
verification reasons. You must provide a picture of yourself or
your child as well upon joining. Profiles without pictures will be
declined automatically. You may rejoin of course when you have a
picture of yourself available to post on your profile.

We have a screening process for new members. This is to protect our
current members from those who may not be joining for the right
reasons. Our screening process is simple and quick and is just a
verification that you are a real person. You will be contacted in
regards to screening if needed.

Once your application has been accepted the rules are pretty
simple:

You must attend at least one event that an organizer is
attending within each 3 month period. Certain events are excluded
from being used for the attendance guideline. Please see
below.*

The 3 month periods are as follows:

July - Sept.
Oct. - Dec.
Jan. - March
April - June

So you as a member must attend one event that has an organizer
going to it within each 3 month period listed above. This means
you'll basically be required to attend at least 4 events a year. We
feel this is appropriate and also not unreasonable for the members
of this group. If an organizer isn't RSVP for the event then it
won't be counted for attendance. Basically an organizer has to
physically see you at an event so you may want to make your
presence known when you get there so we don't miss you!

Also if you want to make sure to be counted you can email after an
event and let us know you were there: svmhmpmgemail@gmail.com

We aren't strict with this guideline, meaning that if for whatever reason
you are unable to attend an event, please contact us through the above
email and explain your situation.

To find each other at events we have Purple Wrist Bands. To obtain
one contact any Organizer and we'll get one to you!

We have a Forum we encourage all to take full advantage of. It's a
No Drama Zone though. So when posting read and re-read your posts
before posting. If something offends you, contact an organizer and
let them know and we'll handle the situation. Please try to not
handle those things on the board itself.

This No Drama Zone extends to outside the message board as well.
Please keep the gossip to a minimum or not at all at events for
this group. We understand that gossip is normal, especially among
good friends and with a group so large but we'd prefer if rumors,
gossip, and the like not spread around the group. If gossip becomes
a problem we will remove the offenders who are creating the
problems. If you're hearing gossip and the like and feel it's
inappropriate please contact Pamala and it will be dealt with
accordingly.

Before any member is removed from the group for any violation they
will receive a warning. This is why it's important to have a
working email you check often. You won't be removed without
knowing.

We're open to comments and suggestions, please feel free to send a
private email to one of the Organizers with any of those.
